A Word for Those on SSRI Antidepressant Medications...

I went to the doctor about a week ago. I looked at the scale and was shocked by what I saw. (I'm not going to share the number but trust me when I say I didn't like it lol).

I woke up last night and God told me to check my blood sugar. To my surprise, it was way too high. (again, I'm not going to share the number but trust me when I say I didn't like it lol).

God gave me a word this morning: Look up some of the medicines you're on. He also told me to share this with you:

Antidepressants interfere with serotonin, the neurotransmitter that regulates anxiety and mood while also controlling appetite. In particular, these changes may increase cravings for carbohydrate-rich foods, such as bread, pasta, and desserts. ~ Google

This includes any of the medications that are in the SSRI (e.g., Paxil). I feel that this is information that doctors should share with their patients, but unfortunately, they don't.

For me, this means I need to pay attention to what I'm eating and when I'm eating. With God's help I will get this back under control but I wanted to let others know in case they're also struggling.

Until next time, Stay strong,

~ Bre
