When Life Gets Tough... Make Lemonade

Sometimes I can be so hard on myself. I realize I'm not the only one who acts this way, though. This is why I'm choosing to speak to everyone, including myself here...

I've been going through a lot with my health lately. I haven't shared it with many people because I refuse to let it get me down. However, I will say this: I'm not going down without a fight. Instead of letting it get to me, I'm choosing to look at all the good things happening to me.

One thing for which I can be thankful lately is the opportunity I've been given to train to become a certified addiction recovery coach. I'm training under someone with many years of experience in hopes that I can get a job at the end of the training (about one year).

The point here really isn't about me as much as it's about a simple truth: We tend to focus on the negative instead of the positive. For instance, I tend to focus on how bad my health is instead of how blessed I am to have this opportunity. I never thought that God would bless me with a ministry after He showed me all the other ways He's brought my past into His service. Nevertheless, I'm glad He's chosen to do so.

What has God blessed you with this week? Are you focusing on it, or are you stuck on those things that are going wrong? Take a moment to consciously choose to move forward with focusing on the good in your life.

Until next time, Stay strong,
~ Bre
